Can Shipt Shoppers Rate Customers? (No, But..)

Can Shipt Shoppers Rate Customers?

Can Shipt Shoppers Rate Customers?

Rating customers is a way of figuring out what people think about your product or service.

Rating customers is also essential for customer satisfaction and keeping track of how many people want to return.

Can Shipt Shoppers Rate Customers?

No. Shoppers Can’t Rate Their Customers.

Unlike other review sites where people get rated based on experiences they had with others, Shipt shoppers cannot rate their customers.

The only ratings shoppers see are the ones made by their customers.

Since Shipt doesn’t provide any information about this topic, they likely follow the same protocol as DoorDash, where shoppers can rate customers but not vice versa.

What Can Customers Rate?

Customers have three options for rating their shoppers: highly satisfied, somewhat satisfied, or not at all satisfied.

At the end of every order, a customer has to choose one of these ratings and then select from a list of reasons they made that choice.

This allows shoppers to know what areas they should improve on.

Can Shipt Customers Request A Shopper?

Yes, Shipt customers can make requests for specific shoppers with their deliveries.

However, please keep in mind that these requests boast no guarantee. Shipt notifies shoppers in real-time of any customer requests.

Still, suppose the requested shopper is unavailable or cannot meet specific criteria. In that case, another qualified and shopper will get assigned instead.

For example, if a customer asks for someone who speaks Spanish, but the closest open shopper does not speak Spanish, then another qualified shopper will get assigned.

Requests seem pointless because they’re not guaranteed to happen.

Why bother? While requests boast no honorable guarantee, sometimes a request can help with your deliveries.

For example, suppose you know that one specific customer always asks for you during a particular time of day.

In that case, this person may become one of your most loyal customers and can make up much of your weekly earnings.

Requesting shoppers is beneficial for the Shipt shoppers who enjoy receiving requests. This is because it allows them to get more business on the clock!

What Do I Need To Know When Making A Request?

Only customers can submit requests for specific shoppers. If you receive a message from someone who is not the customer, it is spam.

You should block the sender and report the account. Only customers can make requests.

So, if you’re not sure whether a customer placed an order, reach out to them before accepting their order.

Are Instacart Shoppers And Drivers The Same?

Once you’ve received the order, they will inform you of the details of their request.

Do Most Shipt Customers Tip?

It’s hard to say, as we’ve found that many people don’t know how they would rate their experience.

One customer told us she had forgotten all about tipping and only realized it when her driver pulled up to her house.

While some people may not be sure what to do, others are more generous with their gratuity for our drivers.

Tips boast appreciation but are unnecessary for delivery. It just depends on how satisfied you were with your last order.

Do You Tip The Shipt Shopper Target?

The answer to this question depends on where the customer lives.

For example, it is illegal for grocery delivery drivers to accept tips in some states, like Colorado.

But in other states, such as Florida and Texas, tipping is not only acceptable but encouraged.

That’s because there are no laws in these two states that prohibit tipping.

So, what should customers do if they want to show their appreciation for the work by their local Shipt shopper?

It depends on whether it’s allowed by law. For example:

No, it’s not legal in Arizona to tip grocery delivery drivers. This is because there are no laws that need shoppers or grocers to accept tips.

That doesn’t stop some shoppers from taking tips, though! Most of our shoppers do not get tips, but some will receive a cash tip if offered.

If you live in Arizona and would like to provide a cash tip, it’s up to the shopper whether they want to accept it.

Yes, Georgia state law allows grocers and grocery delivery drivers to accept tips when services get rendered.

But, we discourage tipping at Shipt because our shoppers do not earn hourly wages or take cash from customers for their work.

If you’d like to leave a tip, there’s no harm in offering verbal praise or a five-star rating on the app at each visit.

Is Shipt Worth The Money?

It all depends on how often you buy groceries and what stores you’re looking at in your area.

Shipt uses an App like Uber Eats or Postmates. The apps let you order groceries from your favourite places and have them delivered straight to your door for $99 a year.

As a result, there are no delivery fees because of scaling back its operations in 2019. But is it worth it?

We looked into what makes Shipt different from other grocery delivery services like Instacart and found out if it’s worth your money.

Let’s start with the obvious thing that differentiates Shipt: its $99 annual membership fee.

Let’s compare that to Instacart, which charges users a $149 annual membership fee.

What you get for your $99 a year are one-hour delivery within a specific zone of your area and unlimited same-day deliveries.

Suppose you go over to the one-hour delivery window. In that case, Instacart will tack on extra fees to cover the time to deliver your groceries.

So keep that in mind when considering Shipt or Instacart.

If you don’t want to make a $99 investment, other grocery delivery options, like Amazon fresh ($14.99) or Walmart’s online service (free).

However, if you have a Prime account, then Amazon fresh comes at no extra cost. This makes it a better option than Shipt if you do it occasionally instead of regular.

AmazonFresh is also a good option for those who live in the suburbs of larger cities.

This is because it delivers groceries from Whole Foods, Sprouts Farmers Market, Costco, and more often limited to significant metros with Shipt and Instacart.

The other grocery delivery service that’s free is Walmart Grocery. But you have to order at least $35 worth of groceries.

However, if your weekly shopping list doesn’t make up this minimum, then consider using an App like RedLaser or Flipp.

This will enable you can price compare and find lower prices on items before adding them to your cart.

This way, you’re not forced into buying more than what you need to reach the $35 minimum for free delivery.

Besides this, Walmart Grocery is also a good option if you need to restock on household items or basic groceries like milk, eggs, and bread.

This is because they offer the lowest prices compared to other grocery services.

So if all you’re doing is ordering basics, then it might be worth your time compared to paying a membership fee just for deliveries.

All that being said, we think Shipt’s annual membership fee is high enough to deter people from signing up and low enough such that those who order weekly will save some money.

Of course, this all depends if you can find stores close by with competitive prices in areas where Instacart and AmazonFresh don’t deliver.

But even though Shipt is the cheapest, its fee is a luxury service, so you have to pay for that convenience.

Does Target Own Shipt?

No. In June 2019, Target invested in Shipt. Does this mean that Target now owns Shipt? No. With the help of Target’s investment.

Shipt plans to expand and continue growing to offer customers more convenience by delivering groceries directly to their doorsteps at an affordable price and within a short time frame.

This means that Target has not gained or bought out Shipt.

Target currently offers same-day delivery for orders placed before 10:00 am Monday through Friday with Instacart.

This is another grocery delivery service that delivers from stores like Whole Foods Market and Costco Wholesale Corporation and products from Target.

With this new partnership between Shipt and Target, customers will now order groceries from Instacart and Shipt.

It is unknown if this new partnership or investment affected the existing relationship between Instacart and Target in Shipt.

For this reason, it’s best to check with a representative from either of these companies for more information on any changes that might occur because of this investment.

The main goal is to offer customers grocery delivery at an affordable price within a short time frame, so they do not have to make the trip themselves.

This makes them easier to access, especially during busy times when it becomes difficult to find parking.

This also means that Shipt will only focus on groceries instead of having multiple focuses on other items.

This is likely to better compete with Amazon, which also has its grocery delivery service called Amazon Fresh and delivers from Whole Foods Market.

Target’s investment in Shipt is expected to help the company build a more significant customer base.

And offer new products and services through both current targeting customers and bringing in new ones.

It will provide faster access for customers who are already loyal to Target’s brand who might have just been relying on Instacart.

While also giving them more reasons to shop at Target instead of competitors such as Walmart Canada.

Is Shipt Free With Target?

Yes! It’s completely free if you are a member of their Plus program. If not, there is a monthly fee.

What does “Plus” mean?

Target’s Target plus program comes with many benefits, including the $5/month unlimited grocery shipping service now known as Shipt.

How much is it to use Shipt?

If you do not have a free membership to Target Pus, an optional fee of $10/month can get reduced by buying groceries at Target (discounted).

The cost varies on your location and market conditions but typically ranges from $4/month to $8/month.

It has recently increased this fee from previous years where you would only pay about 3% of your order.

That means if you paid $50 for groceries, then you would only pay $1.50 on the delivery fee (not including the membership).

What does “delivery” mean?

It’s an optional service that allows users to get their target orders delivered to their homes for a per order fee of about $7-8.

Which is also discounted if you are a member of their target plus program.

The most cost savings come from this because it doesn’t matter how much money you spend, just the value of your order and what gets delivered.

Do You Tip The Fresh Direct Delivery Person?

This is truly a wonderful thing considering it can save families like mine hundreds or even thousands per year in grocery costs instead of buying ready-made products at retail prices.

Where is Shipt available?

Currently, they only offer this service in the following areas:

-Atlanta, GA (Metro)

-Charlotte, NC (Metro & surrounding communities)

-Cincinnati, OH (Metro & surrounding communities)

-Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX (Metro & surrounding communities)

-Houston, TX (Metro & surrounding communities)

Shipt shoppers rate customers, but not the other way around.

This means that if you’re a customer looking for reviews of your shopping experience with Shipt, it’s unlikely to happen unless someone else leaves one on your behalf.

A few months ago, I ordered groceries from Target via their new service called “Shipt.” They delivered my order in less than two hours.

And everything came out exactly as expected, including the fact that there were no surprises or extra charges added along the way.

The only downside? Paying $99 per year for such convenience is tough to swallow. But what about those times when we don’t have time to go grocery shopping ourselves?

Hi! I' am Tom. I was a manager in one of the biggest stores for over 10 Years, am also an SEO by night. I don't like to call myself a blogger; they are very analytical, do email marketing, and know all SEO stuff. I faced many questions from customers about different products, and there was hardly any help on the internet. After learning all the things about these products as a manager the hard way, I decided to start a blog and help other people.
